G- What I'm grateful for. My sisters, but one in particular, Jessie. I was able to get close to Jessie last year when we were RC's and ever since then we've only gotten closer. I'm so grateful for her friendship. Jessie is the definition of a true friend--so loving, kind, and supportive. When I went to her this week, with my scattered thoughts, as always she supported me in what she knows I love. It's kind of funny how people get you like that...when they are able to hug your heart and tell you, you can reach your dreams even if you haven't yet said what was on your heart.
I- Is for what inspires me. Stories inspire me. Lovely stories, heart breaking stories, over the top redemption stories. Stories about real people in real life situations are what drive me to be a better me. As I continue to practice vulnerability, I've begun practicing empathy as well. Empathy is something we all truly need and even crave. Empathy stems from the heart, so the only way to practice it is to allow those stories, whether they be good or bad, touch my heart so that I may be inspired to connect with those who tell them, so that I may show them that I am feeling with them and not for them, so that they may experience what empathy feels like and pass it along as well.
F- Is for how I'm practicing faith. Patience, patience, patience. Let me tell y'all, this is something I struggle with day in and day out. Yet I still ask God every morning to give me patience. This of course brings me situations in which I will need to recognize that patience is the only answer. I've recently been put into a situation for the rest of the semester that I don't particularly like, but I figure God knows what he's doing and this can only make me practice patience more than I ever have before.
