I have a dream. MLK had a dream. America has a dream. You have a dream. We all do.
Dreams are defined as "a series of thoughts, images, and sensations occurring in a person's mind during sleep." But for the sake of conversation, we all can agree that these thoughts and sensations don't always occur during sleep. For many of us, they occur in the middle of the day. At our seemingly boring and inadequate job. Or while, once again, performing a menial task. In the midst of rushing around for deadlines or as we sit and procrastinate our "responsibilities."
I believe it's universal and natural to dream. To want and desire better for ourselves. To have a hope for the future. After all, Jesus did promise that to us.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11
Whatever dream is planted in your heart, I believe, is mandated by our maker. It might seem childlike to cling to our dreams. But those dreams/sensations/images of us doing/being/creating better--are what drive us to be who we were called to be.
I can not express enough how valid your dreams are. Especially if they give you hope for your future.
Journey encourages us to "[N]ot stop believin'...I encourage you to not stop dreamin'
P.S...don't let assholes ruin your dreams. They're yours for a reason.
